Sonic 3D Blast was the final Sonic game released for the Sega Genesis. Busy with Saturn development, yet wanting a 16-bit Sonic title for the holiday season in 1996, Sega farmed out the development to Traveller's Tales, who had developed the excellent Mickey Mania games, as well as the equally fantastic Toy Story.
