Twin Cobra is a vertical scrolling shmup released in arcades in 1987 and ported to the North American NES in 1989.
On the surface, Twin Cobra is a pretty vanilla shooter. You pilot a helicopter through various battle zones taking out enemy tanks, planes, and ships.
